Video Art Samples
The first group of videos presents work displayed and showcased in galleries. These “slide shows” are in a video format that uses different style effects for transitions between still photography of art. Contact me to discuss how I can create video slideshow stories like this first grouping — for you and your artistic adventures, or your favorite environs.
The second group on this page presents work that promotes the art work and process of local artists. (which I shot and edited myself). At the end are my Nature Studies, short “tone poems” about the natural surrounds in my woodland property and when I travel.
Slide Shows in Video Format — Different Style Effects
This video represents what I now do most frequently…Take images of art work on display at a particular show and create a video with music that includes these images.
This movie shows you the recent work inside the gallery space I have on my property.
This movie presents an overview of Triangle Visual Artist’s work on display in June 2017. Special effects on a black background enhance the “action”.
This piece uses visual effects that compliment the works on display as staged for the sale of an ultra modern house in Chapel Hill.

Creekside Paintings by Barbi Dalton uses a waterbrush type digital effect to compliment her lovely watercolor work depicting various scenes along the creek that surrounds her house for 180 degrees. See Barbi’s website for many examples of her work.
Marbelized Motions is a short video showing samples of marblelized silk I made while at Penland School of Crafts.
Art Work and Processes
This very short piece showing the process used by Elaine O’Neil was actually shot with an iPhone. She wanted it short and sweet without any narration!
In this video, the viewer catches glimpses of various handwrought jewelry created by the silver & goldsmith jeweler, Claudia Hug, who wanted to showcase her work in a subtle story. The pieces are worn by a young lady who glides through scenes while reflecting on her memories. See this website for more about Claudia’s fine jewelry.
Here is a video I made when Ed Ralston went with me to Penland and took a Japanese Handtool Woodworking class…
Goats Graze was shot while Emily Weinstein painted en plein air while goats grazed on her property. Goats are cute and her garden is lovely.
Emily and the Buds is a very short impressionistic piece that eavesdrops on Emily Weinstein as she describes how a series of work she created this spring was inspired by the season! See Emily’s website for a wide range of her artwork.
Metaphorically Speaking introduces you to Judith Ernst’s background, provides a demo of her extraordinary pottery, and her philosophy about its creation. This was shot using an exceptionally high quality video camera and has three different scenes. This is much longer than most videos created recently. View this video to better understand her most exceptional work. See Judith’s website for a variety of images and stories.
This next piece was shot and edited by me a few years back and shares with you Shelly’s viewpoint and process. See her website for more recent examples of her techniques and work!
Galleries and Showcases
Here’s a video that shows you what my studio gallery had on display when it was first built a few years back. I am thrilled to have this space to showcase my work…
